Member of the Week 11/7/2022 -- Gateway Dental Care
From the first time Dr. Isaac Cueto, DDS toured the office at 2300 Gateway Drive in Wooster, he knew this could be an excellent opportunity for his practice. At the time, the dental practice belonged to Dr. Robert Salmans, but when he was ready to retire Dr. Cueto happily took over. Nearly 11 years later, he still sees some of those original patients today. The team at Gateway Dental Care is dedicated to making the dental experience comfortable for each patient and works with them to decide the best treatment plan for each individual need.
A LOVE FOR NORTHEAST OHIO
Born in the Dominican Republic, Dr. Cueto moved to Miami, Florida with his family as a child. He completed his undergraduate studies at Florida International University and returned to the Dominican Republic to earn his dental degree at the prestigious Universidad Iberoamericana. Following dental school, Dr. Cueto completed two years of General Practice Residency at Akron City Hospital and at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. He remains invested in education and has continued his studies in dental implants, oral surgery, cosmetic dentistry, and sedation.
He quickly developed a love for Northeast Ohio and specifically Wayne County.
“I fell in love with Wooster as soon as I found the practice,” Dr. Cueto said.
He has an appreciation for the lifestyle of the area and the contrast it holds to growing up in Miami.
Dr. Cueto is a vested member of the professional dental community. He holds membership with the American Dental Association, the Ohio Dental Association, and the Stark County Dental Society. With a desire to give back to the community, he participates in programs such as “Give Kids a Smile”, which focuses on providing dental care for children in need.
PATIENT EDUCATION IS A PRIORITY
Dr. Cueto goes to great lengths to educate his patients on what they need to do in order to save their teeth. He will lay out all of the options and explain the steps the patient can take to avoid the unnecessary loss of teeth. Most times, he finds that patients will make those few changes in habit, and pretty soon they have healthy teeth again. Dr. Cueto’s goal is to allow the patient to decide which course of treatment suits them the best and he is always ready to approach each unique situation with the best plan possible. His approach is very interactive and informative in explaining why things are happening and what can be done to fix them. With a wide range of experience in general dentistry and surgery, Dr. Cueto keeps procedures in-house when possible, but will refer patients to other area physicians when appropriate.
SERVICES
Gateway Dental Care uses the highest technology available to treat and diagnose any concerns that may exist. Through the use of CEREC, a unique CAD/CAM system, Dr. Cueto is able to take a 3D digital impression to design the restoration to precisely fit each individual patient. This technology also allows the treatment to be completed in one appointment. Digital x-rays allow the Gateway Dental Care team to enhance images and detect issues at an early stage while using minimal radiation.
Comprehensive dental care services include general checkups, cleanings, oral conscious sedation, gum disease therapy, oral cancer screening, and teeth whitening.
Restorative and Prosthetic services include composite fillings, crowns, and bridges.
Surgical procedures include extractions and implants.
For patients wanting to straighten their teeth, Gateway Dental Care uses SureSmile Aligners, which is a series of transparent, removable, and virtually invisible clear aligners.
