Member of the Week 9/26/2022 - C.W. Production + Design

For Zac Rowley and Clint Sprunger of C.W. Production + Design, quality production services and great experiences for their clients are their main focus. They really enjoy finding the extra depth of detail in providing full-service audio, video, lighting, and production solutions for live entertainment and event programming. As a team of self-starters who love learning, their goal is to give their clients peace of mind that all of the details will be handled and they don’t have to worry about a thing.

BUILDING THEIR BUSINESS

Prior to working together, Clint studied recording studio arts at Stark State University and Zac studied electronics engineering at the University of Akron and is a Network Engineer for a global organization.

Around 14 years ago, they began working together to manage production for a local church, which they still do today. They first talked about starting a business together in 2015. Clint was working with the Wooster Area Chamber of Commerce on productions. In 2017, Zac started doing large-scale production with Schaeffler for their 40th Anniversary celebration. They officially began C.W. Production + Design as its own company in 2019.

“We’re inspired by seeing all the production elements come together. Coordinating all of the production elements on the front end and seeing all the spreadsheet pages and cells, emails, and notes come together in an experience that people attend inspires them to keep doing more,” Clint said.

They recognize there is a lot of opportunity in their industry and profession in the Wooster area and enjoy being able to provide a quality service option for local organizations and businesses.

RELATIONSHIP FOCUSED

Currently, most of their work is done within Wooster and Wayne County, but they have begun to expand their footprint into Holmes and Stark counties. Building relationships is a priority of C.W. Production + Design, so as they continue to grow they remain focused on serving their clients first. The expansion of logistics is just another element they can add to the planning process of an event or production.

“We really like events that utilize the depth of our skill sets in live video, audio, and lighting. It’s a lot of fun to have a bunch of moving parts that need to come together to pull off a production. We also like to push ourselves on every project and do/try new things that force us to continue educating ourselves and growing as production professionals,” Clint said.

WOOSTERFEST

C.W. Production + Design is considered the production manager and provider for Woosterfest. They are the lead on sourcing and implementing all the production systems required for the weekend. They work with third-party vendors for sourcing the PA (speaker system), they supply the mixing consoles and other necessary audio system items for the weekend, and they design and source the lighting and video packages required for the festival. From there, they manage and oversee all those systems for the weekend including mixing the bands and managing the stage between acts. They also work directly with the artists that are performing ahead of time on what instrumentation they’re bringing and what is available for them from a systems standpoint.

THE IMPACT OF PRODUCTION

When planning for an event, remember to consider the impact production will have on the guests in attendance. Start thinking about production early on and include it in the budget. There are a lot of elements that go into providing quality production and behind the scenes coordination. It’s important to have a knowledgeable team to handle those details.
