Member of the Week 9/12/2022 -- Wayne County Fair

For many people in the area, the Wayne County Fair is so much more than just a fair.

The fair means “community coming together,” Matt Martin, Manager said. “Seeing people that you haven’t seen in a year and they come back and they start talking right where they left off.”

In its 173rd year, the Wayne County Fair continues to bring people together and recognize the importance of agriculture in our community.

JR FAIR

From family and consumer science projects to livestock projects, 4-H and FFA kids have spent the year preparing for this week. Each year, over 1,400 kids participate in Wayne County 4-H.

“For the community to support the 4-H kids and the sales. It’s such teachable moments for our kids to know that our community supports that age,” Martin said.

Each day starting at 8 a.m. the Jr. Fair competitions will take place in the Event Center, Coliseum, Show Arena and Riding Arena.
