SERVICE/UTILITY TRUCK BODIES

STAHL Scott Fetzer Company has been manufacturing truck bodies, truck tool boxes, and truck accessories in the U.S. since 1946. An innovator in the industry, STAHL has led the work truck industry with enhancements that include the first galvanneal steel truck bodies and their exclusive lock-bolt construction. STAHL is dedicated to customer service and producing products to fit each customer’s specific needs. From Light Kits to Tie-Down Rings and everything in between, STAHL has optional features to customize their service bodies for every customer’s exact needs.

FORESTRY TRUCK BODIES

Established in 1982, ARBORTECH is a leading national manufacturer of truck bodies for arborists. The first in the industry to use galvanneal steel to enhance the durability of their equipment, they have created heavy-duty, versatile products designed for medium to large tree service fleets and independent arborists. The Wooster manufacturing facility is equipped to professionally install the forestry body on any medium-duty chassis. Just as STAHL’s truck bodies are meant to be easily customizable, ARBORTECH’s forestry bodies offer a wide range of optional features to provide customers with the exact equipment for their individual needs.

CONTINUED EXPANSION

STAHL completed its most recent expansion in June 2022 to add over 15,000 square feet to its facility primarily to support the ARBORTECH brand. STAHL is anticipating that ARBORTECH will double in the next 5 years. The building was designed to make the most of the space available at their West Old Lincoln Way location. A standard nylon cover allows the building to be self-lit as long as there is any amount of sunlight in the sky and the 5-ton overhead crane is used for the installation of ARBORTECH’s forestry bodies.

STAHL foresees more growth in the service/utility truck bodies as well and plans to make further investments in their current space.

Due to the market’s strength and its customers’ growth, STAHL wants to ensure it keeps up with its customers’ growth.

“There is a strong market in tree care and infrastructure investment. When you have construction and oil and gas you need work trucks. And when you care for your trees you need chip trucks. The market continues to grow and STAHL has a great quality product and fantastic customer service,” said Mike Stuckey, General Manager of STAHL.

The company currently has 170 employees in Wooster and is looking to fill more positions. They have a broad range of employees from recent high school graduates to 45-year employees. STAHL is working with teenagers and career centers to encourage the next generation to build a career in manufacturing. It is looking to invest more in welding training and trades training to set up employees for long-term careers.
