2025 Small Business of the Year (More than 15 Employees) - Cleveland Road Animal Hospital

Congratulations to Cleveland Road Animal Hospital on being named the 2025 Small Business of the Year (More than 15 Employees) Award recipient!

Dr. Stephanie Bailey

Owner & Medical Director

Cleveland Road Animal Hospital has been a cornerstone of Wooster since the 1960s, offering veterinary care, boarding, grooming, daycare, and most recently, urgent care, introduced in 2023.

Dr. Stephanie Bailey, owner and veterinarian, moved to Wooster in 2009 to fulfill her dream of running her own practice. She works alongside her husband, Dr. Chad Bailey, and together, they are passionate about providing exceptional care to pets and their families. Her passion for veterinary medicine stems from growing up around her grandparents’ farm and participating in 4-H.

Today, Cleveland Road Animal Hospital has a team of 45 employees, including seven veterinarians. As Medical Director, Bailey specializes in dentistry, while her husband focuses on orthopedics and surgery. Her team is guided by six core values: teamwork, treating everyone like family, integrity, accountability, continuous improvement, and reliable service.

Cleveland Road Animal Hospital has made a regional impact, attracting pet owners from surrounding communities, particularly for urgent care when primary care providers are unavailable. As more people view pets as family, Bailey and her team remain committed to meeting the growing demand for accessible, high quality care through extended urgent care hours and improved technology.

Since moving to Wooster, the Baileys have been embraced by the community. “I’ve never been surrounded by so many people that want to give back to their community,” Bailey shared. Wooster has also been an incredible place to raise their family and get involved.

Cleveland Road Animal Hospital has been a proud member of the Wooster Chamber since 2001. Bailey and her team have actively participated in events, Leadership Wooster, and–one of their favorites–sponsoring the Wiener Dog Race at Woosterfest. “It’s really important to be a part of the Chamber. I think it was a vital part of our success to be able to make those connections.”

Looking ahead, Cleveland Road Animal Hospital remains committed to providing top-tier pet care and fostering connections through community involvement. “It’s incredibly humbling to be recognized among so many amazing businesses and further fuels our commitment to excellence.”

The Small Business of the Year (More than 15 Employees) Award is presented annually to a small business for its longevity in the community, positive impact on the local economy, contributions to the community’s well being, their concern for the well being of its employees and support of the Chamber.
