Young Professionals at Lincoln Way Vineyards
For our May 2022 meeting, the Wooster Young Professionals met at Lincoln Way Vineyards for a night of networking and wine-tasting. We were excited to have almost 30 YPs in attendance!
Lincoln Way’s Rich, Local History
Lincoln Way Vineyards is located at 9050 W. Old Lincoln Way in Wooster. The vineyards were established in 2008, after owners Jim and Sherri Borton planted the first block of Vidal Blanc grapes in 2006. Soon after, the Borton family began making their own wines, taking a few years to perfect their blends. They opened their tasting room to the public in October of 2018, with the grand opening for the winery following in 2019.
The Young Professionals event was a family affair, with Jim and Sherri’s daughter, Arianna, presenting an overview of the vineyards and winery, and their son, Alex, leading the group on a tour. The YPs learned that quite a few of the Lincoln Way wines have won awards, including Grand and Reserve Champion, and double gold, silver, and bronze awards in the Ohio Wines Competition.
Each Lincoln Way wine has a time designated to it, as the winery’s goal is to help you Find Your Wine Time! The Chamber staff is partial to the Six Sixteen Rose, but all of their options are sure to satisfy. With all of the delicious wine options, a charcuterie tray, and two dip options alongside an ice cream machine, the Young Professionals had a tasty evening! We are grateful to Lincoln Way for hosting an enjoyable and informative session! Learn more about the vineyards and the winery at https://lincolnwayvineyards.com.
