CrossFit Wooster Breaks Ground on New Facility
On Saturday, June 11, CrossFit Wooster broke ground on their new facility, which will be located at the corner of 585 and Long Rd., across from the PNC baseball fields. With more than 12,000 square feet, the new gym will feature ReguPol Aktiv Rubber Flooring that Clay Ream, who co-owns the facility with his wife Bethany, promises will make lunges and burpees “less painful.” With five bathrooms (four of which have showers), a Children’s Room, and a brand new 44’ Rogue Rig and a secondary 24’ Rig, CrossFit Wooster’s new facility will offer the perfect space to help you change your body, as well as your life.
The new facility will also house Team Ream Sports Performance, an athletic training facility featuring 4,000 square feet of turf, 3,000 square feet of netting, 6 batting cages, and 3 pitching tunnels. When the facility opens in December 2022, it will provide athletes with a local space for improving their speed & agility, strength & endurance, and power & mobility. Clay and Bethany are excited to create a space in the heart of our community where athletes will be able to train.
What is CrossFit?
Many people have heard about CrossFit but are not really sure what it is—they only know it gets results. CrossFit is not just a workout; it is a lifestyle, characterized by safe, effective exercise and sound nutrition. Used to accomplish health and fitness goals, it relies on a marriage between varied, high-intensity workouts, healthy diet, and a supportive community that encourages and motives one another.
CrossFit Wooster’s Commitment to Our Local Community
Since acquiring CrossFit Wooster in May of 2021, Clay and Bethany Ream have been excited about bringing their visions for a free-standing facility to life. Recognizing a community need, they knew this new gym would need to also include an athletic training facility that would provide athletes with a local space for honing their talents. With the closest athletic training facility located nearly 45 minutes away, the Reams are eager to meet this local need.
CrossFit Wooster’s mission is to welcome everyone—regardless of fitness level—through their doors and give them the best hour of their day. Their goal is to help our community lead healthier lives and to create a welcoming and supportive environment to help everyone reach their wellness goals.
CrossFit Wooster’s new facility, including the Team Ream Sports Performance, is slated to open in December of this year. We know the whole community of Wooster will enjoy watching this project take shape over the course of the next few months.
